Our Kitchen- A Work in Progress

Our kitchen is STILL a work in progress BUT it has come a long way from this...
Hello 1900's...although I did LOVE that huge porcelain farm style sink...that was about it!
We started this make-over total gut and remodel project in Janaury of 2009 (just a few weeks before lil G was born...and we wonder why it took MONTHS to complete!)
There was actually an old brick chimney that was behind an enclosed wall.

It was extremely messy!  I think some of that dust is still floating around even though we sealed the kitchen off from the rest of the house!
And now, 2 years later our kitchen looks like this...

We created this opening into our dining room with a breakfast bar and I LOVE it...it is definitely my favorite part of our kitchen and the area we use most!  It was just a small doorway before.
This is lil G's area...his kitchen and table we made to match our cabinets.
Our message area I completed last month...I had a really hard time deciding what to do with this very small area...and this works great for us!  I will have a full tutorial coming soon!
We still have to add the crown molding and curb molding on the cabinets, put a gloss coat on the tile back splash, and add a few decorative touches I'm working on...but it's a HUGE improvement and we LOVE it!

  12. Wow! The remodel is fantastic. (I would have kept the farm sink, though. Maybe two side-by-side. Haha!) It looks like you have DEEP sinks now. I would *so* love that! We have two sinks, but I wish they were the deep ones.

Anyway, thanks for linking with To-the-TOP Tuesdays. I'm here to follow back. :)
